CLASSES AND WORKSHOPS

Craft as an act of revolution and community resilience. Craft as a source of independence. Craft as a foundation for knowing.

Art as a space for the soul. Art as a room to gather in. Art as a conversation, a dialogue, as a foundation for growth.

Two disciplines like a river meeting the sea. Water into water. This place will be a vessel to hold those waters. Shake it, see what it becomes. Let it distill, where do art and craft separate?

CURRENT OFFERINGS:

Process over Product will be run as an intensive studio art class with weekly critique sessions and prompts. The aim of the class is to engage with artistic thought, feedback, and studio rituals/practices. The course is open to artists at any stage in their career, but know that the focus will be on how to think about and work in the art world, as opposed to learning how to make art.

An emphasis in Process over Product is the concept of “rigorous play.” As a group we will encourage each other to make work that is imperfect, unfinished, or messy. The point is less about the final result, and more about the ideas we are communicating.
